Available for opportunities and freelance work

Hi, I am Samir Khomsi Kak

Java developer. I like systems that hold up when things go wrong

I have spent the last few years building backends, fixing what breaks, and shipping products end to end — with Java and Spring at the core, and Node.js, Vue, and a few AI integrations along the way

01 / About

I build things, fix things, and try to leave the codebase better than I found it

I started writing software seriously at university in Kharkiv, and over the last few years I have taken that into real work — a year at SoftServe, then freelance projects for clients in different industries. I finished a master's in Computer Science and now build things on the side

What I like most is the moment when a messy problem becomes a clear system. The database recovery at SoftServe, the payment architecture that had to work for three different providers, the AI agent that actually picks up the phone — those are the kinds of problems I want more of

Education

Master, Computer Science

Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics

Advanced study in computer science, completed in December 2025

2020 - 2024

06 / Hobbies

I like opening things up to see how they work

Some people relax by leaving technology alone. I usually do the opposite: if a device is interesting enough, I want to take it apart, clean it, repair it, rebuild it, and understand why it was made that way.

That curiosity is not separate from how I write software. Hardware teaches patience, careful debugging, and respect for tiny details. A loose cable, a bad solder joint, or one wrong assumption can explain the whole problem.

Hardware

PC builds, cleaning, small repairs, soldering, and the satisfying part where a dead-looking thing starts working again.

Cycling

Longer rides clear my head. It is a good reset after staring at logs for too long.

Table tennis

Fast, simple, and surprisingly technical. The best kind of break.
